Silversides provides Guided Fly fishing in Vancouver BC for Bull trout on many glacial fed rivers. Bull Trout are very aggressive feeders and during the springtime they are actively feeding on salmon fry and are easily fooled with our custom tied flies! We provide a fly fishing guide service from downtown Vancouver serving all hotels in the downtown core. We also guide in the Fraser river valley. I custom tie all our flies that are proven to fool Bull trout time and again! The 2 main rivers that Silversides offers guided fly fishing for Bull trout on are the Squamish river and the Pitt river, although we do have other rivers available that are a little tougher to get to. Squamish river Bull trout can reach 14 lbs but average 2-3 lbs. Pitt river Bull trout will average 5-7 lbs and can reach 15 plus lbs.
The Squamish river is easily accessed by a spectacular scenic drive just 1 hour north of Vancouver, BC and makes a nice day trip. Best times are later March to mid May and November/December.
The Pitt river is accessed only by jet boat or helicopter so full day trips are the only way to go. The Pitt is one of the finest rivers in North America to fish on and yet so close to a major city. All fish are wild in this system. Best times are June and July for big Bull trout.
There are many remote rivers teaming with Bull Trout near Vancouver, BC that require helicopter access and Silversides is licensed to guide on these breathtaking rivers.
