Hi, my name is Brian McKinlay, owner operator of Silversides Fishing Adventures, providing experienced guided fishing (since 1996) for Salmon, Sturgeon, Trout and Steelhead on the Fraser river and its tributaries in the greater Vancouver area as well as world class fly-fishing for big Bull Trout on rivers and Rainbow trout fly fishing in remote wilderness lakes near Vancouver, BC.
My main priority is to provide friendly full service to make every aspect of your trip a comfortable fun experience.
Quite popular are Fraser river fishing trips for Sturgeon and Salmon. We work very hard at keeping our Sturgeon baits up to date ensuring great success for you. We also use many different sportfishing methods for Chinook salmon such as 'Bar fishing', plugs, blades and salmon roe.
Silversides Fishing is well experienced in all fishing methods that get fish to bite, we do not encourage the use of the flossing method aka 'bottom bouncing' which is actually snagging fish in the mouth. This method was started as a means to catch tight lipped sockeye in the Fraser river but has sadly crossed over into all the 5 salmon species. If you want your salmon to bite(true sport fishing) then I would suggest booking with us as we have extensive knowledge and success with all methods of sport fishing for salmon.
Rainbows are available in Spring/Summer and Autumn. Our freshwater Salmon fishery is probably the best in the world. The Fraser river which flows from the Canadian Rockies to the Pacific Ocean at Vancouver, offers all 5 species of Salmon from April to December including powerful Chinook salmon that go 20 to 50lbs and more, tiring out the strongest pair of arms! June to August is great summer salmon fishing on the Fraser for Chinook and Sockeye. Late summer and fall (September to November) provides great fly-fishing or drift fishing for salmon on our local rivers. Hook into a bright 10 lb Coho on the fly or a 30 lb Chinook and you won't be disappointed. Fly-fish for fly-aggressive Pink salmon (odd numbered years) and experience hot non-stop action as our run of Pink's number in the tens of millions!
Chum salmon are the fly-fishers prize as they are known to scream off 100yds of line in seconds! Steelhead fishing is good from December to April, peaking in March-April.
Book a trip now for 2007/8 and see what BC fishing is all about. A hospitable guide and full service mean your satisfaction. |
