Fly fishing Vancouver BC for Salmon in the Fraser River Valley and Squamish River Valley is best from September to December for Coho, Chum, Pink, Sockeye and Chinook Salmon. Spring run King Salmon are available in April and May on the Lilooet river which is accessed only by jet boat or helicopter from Harrison hot springs, just 90 minutes east of Vancouver. This river is absolutely gorgeous and surrounded by the best scenery anywhere on the planet and has very good trout fishing too. The Harrison river offers great Salmon fly fishing in October/November. The Pitt River has a good Sockeye run in August, good Coho salmon and Chum salmon runs in October and November. We fly fish on the Fraser and Harrison rivers, Squamish River, Chilliwack River, Pitt River and many more rivers and streams in the Vancouver area or try a remote helicopter adventure on a coastal river.
Fly Fishing in Vancouver BC for Bull trout and Dolly Varden is best from mid March to July on local rivers. I like swinging huge flies for these fish or luring them out of log jams and watching them grab your offering! They are a pretty fish and are easily identified by their pink spots and white tipped fins. Silversides is extremely skilled in finding these beauties of our cold glacial fed rivers!
Lake fly fishing guided trips for Rainbow Trout is just over 2 hours east of Vancouver, BC and is a local favorite past time for many local anglers. It offers great fly fishing on quiet wilderness lakes for mostly wild Rainbow trout. The best way to catch a feeding Rainbow in a lake is to match the hatch and we do this quite well with Chironomids(the trouts main food supply) under a floating line. This is how 50 fish days happen for our clients! Other flies in our arsenal include Damsels, Dragons, Leeches, Shrimp, Mayflies and many more. When I want to enjoy time off this is my favorite fishing. Most lakes are small and we fish from float tubes, but in those small lakes we can find well fed rainbows to 8 lbs!
