I remember one of our German guests from August 2010 saying to me(he is 30 minutes into fighting a 300 lb Sturgeon) - “Brian! what is this?! this cannot be so! No fish can fight this hard!” If your coming to fish for those famous hard fighting Sturgeon the fishing is very good from mid July to later November but fishing can also be good in June too. July has some good size fish and some of our biggest fish occur from the end of July to mid August each year. All of August is very good for big Sturgeon. Sturgeon are fished from our custom jet boats only. Pink Salmon return in odd # years and this means that the first 3 weeks of September is HOT for lots of big fish as the bite is unbelievable! Even # years is quite good during September too. October in even # years is excellent fishing! November is always good as many fish are feeding on the later season Salmon runs.

July has Chinook Salmon on the Fraser river which requires our custom jet boats. The Chilliwack river has Chinooks too but it’s walk and wade only.

August has good returns of Chinook Salmon on the Fraser river and if the Sockeye Salmon return in good numbers then we are allowed to fish and keep Sockeye like we did in 2010’s record return year! We never know how many Sockeye will show up until later in July each year.

September 2013 is the next huge Pink Salmon run(usually 20+ million) which equals excellent fishing! Imagine catching up to 100 Salmon by fly fishing or light spinning tackle! September also has good runs of Fall Chinook-King salmon. Our guided King salmon trips in the fall produce good size fish using plugs or our custom spinners that Chinooks can't resist!

October each year is very good for Chum Salmon on the Fraser river tributaries such as the famous Harrison river. Chum are known for their hard fighting that tires out the strongest arms! Coho Salmon are also present in October and are a very good eating fish and fight well. Coho are fun to catch on fly or light spinning tackle and our custom home made flies and spinners work magic! October is also excellent fishing on the Chilliwack river if your looking to fish with lots of other local anglers.

November has some really good Chum Salmon fishing with some Coho Salmon around too. November Chum's are brighter(often silver bars) and very aggressive hard fighters. The crowds are gone and you can have lots of room! Both fly fishing and gear fishing are productive in the Fall. By December it’s pretty much over for Salmon, there is still some Sturgeon action, but at this time we are getting ready for winter and looking forward to really good winter Steelhead fishing from January to April.

Trips depart anytime from 7 to 8AM depending on species targeted. Times will be confirmed the day before. We fish for 8 hours but sometimes a little bit more if we need to. You are usually back at shore around 4:30 PM so you can enjoy your evening and talk about the big one with good friends, food and maybe a beer!.

Our main boat is a 21 foot Custom Weld with 5.7 liter inboard jet(as pictured) Other boats in the fleet are similar and all are jet and have covered seating area that is comfortable. For cold days we can turn the heater on. Sturgeon gear is professional grade Shimano products that have been time tested to handle the biggest of fish! We keep all our rods and reels in good working order and clean! Salmon gear is also many Shimano products, Abu Garcia, Diawa and Quantum to name a few. We custom tie all our own flies and jigs and make our own spinners too that have been tested for years and proven to work great! I make sure all our fishing guides meet my own high standards for knowledge of the fish, safety and friendly service.

For July and August make sure to bring shorts and water shoes(sandals), hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and camera. For Fall time bring warmer clothes, long underwear, goretex or rainwear, sweaters etc. Temperatures in October can be from 5-15 C and rain, wind or sun, it’s a mixed bag of weather. Clients are welcome to bring their own fly gear and waders if they like. We also take pictures or video and can email them to you later.
